Herménégilde Chiasson

A poet, playwright, visual artist, and filmmaker, Herménégilde Chiasson is a prolific and multidisciplinary artist. His work celebrates a modern and contemporary Acadia. It has earned him numerous honors, including the Canada Council for the Arts’ Molson Prize for his body of work. He has published nearly forty books, including Béatitudes (Champlain Award), Conversations (Governor General’s Award), and the twelve-volume series Autoportrait in 2014. He plays a leading role in the development of the cultural community in Acadia and served as Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick from 2003 to 2009.
