Guy Arsenault

Guy Arsenault (1954-2023) was an Acadian poet and visual artist born in Moncton, New Brunswick. His landmark poetry collection Acadie Rock (1973) brought the chiac dialect into literature, challenging traditional norms. As a painter, Arsenault extended his poetic themes of Acadian identity, cultural resistance and everyday life into visual form. His work remains significant in the Francophone Atlantic Canadian literary and arts scene.
