Amélie Prévost is a spoken word artist based in Montreal. Her approach draws on poetry and stage performance. She believes in breaking down barriers between genres and practices, unabashedly creating works that blend the codes of storytelling, slam poetry, theater, and poetry. Initially a creator of performed poetry shows (Fol ouvrage – Torcher des paillettes, with Queen Ka / Kamikaze du vendredi / etc.), she is also the author of several collections of short texts (Corps flottants, Kamikaze du vendredi, etc.). Her work focuses heavily on the relentless quest for beauty and meaning, as well as on the relationship between human beings and their bodies and environment. She is known for her energy, humor, and ability to connect directly with her audience. She is also a member of the collective Primaires, les couleurs secondaires, which offers storytelling and poetry performances. (Bio taken from the RAPAIL website)
